1926 Pan-Am 1st Flight Texas to All Central & South America & West Indies, Crash Cover, Signed by Pilots (See Decription). on 4 Dec 1926 10 U.S. Army planes left San Antonio, Tx for the 1st Pan-American Flight to all Central/South American Countries and the West Indies. Each pilot carried 10 covers that were addressed to themselves and would be post marked in each country visited. This cover addressed to Lt Benton was postmarked in 12 different countries before he was killed when his plane CRASHED in Buenos Aires, Argentina. The 10 covers recovered from his [lane were signed by all the remaining pilots and mailed back to his home. Only 10 covers exist. 8 are held by the family, 1 is in the possession of a collector. This is the ONLY ONE that is Currently for sale. A fascinating Exhibition piece.
